Oil Minister: Energy Optimization and Strategic Management Organization launched

According to Energy Press, Minister of Oil Mohsen Paknejad, regarding the establishment of the Organization for Strategic Energy Optimization and Management and the type of interaction between this organization and the Ministry of Oil, stated: The establishment of the “Organization for Strategic Energy Optimization and Management”, which has the legal capacity of the Seventh Progress Plan, was a very good measure that was finalized in the first year of the government, approximately one or two months after the government began its work. In this regard, Dr. Saqab Esfahani was also recently introduced, who has studies and follow-ups in this field. The President appointed him based on these experiences and studies, and his presence will definitely help solve the problems we have in this field in the country.
The “Fuel Consumption Optimization Organization” will be placed under the “Energy Optimization and Strategic Management Organization” to accompany it.
He added: The [Fuel] Consumption Optimization Organization, which is one of the subsidiaries of the Ministry of Oil, will practically accompany and be placed under the Energy Optimization and Strategic Management Organization, and on the other hand, we at the Ministry of Oil will provide any assistance that is necessary in interaction with this organization.
Paknejad continued: In response to another question from a Mehr reporter regarding the organizational chart of the relationship between the Ministry of Oil and the Optimization Organization, he clarified: It is a false expectation to say that the Ministry of Oil will be placed under the Optimization Organization, because the missions of the Ministry of Oil go beyond optimization and its main mission is the production of crude oil and gas and their processing, as well as their distribution, sale, and export. On the other hand, it should be said that optimization was also one of the branches and tasks that were pursued [in the Ministry of Oil], and now, with the establishment of the Energy Optimization and Strategic Management Organization, it will operate under this organization.
