Approval of water supply plan for injection into West Karun oil fields
The project manager for conceptual and basic studies on supplying water for injection into the oil reservoirs of the Karun basin said: The plan for supplying and transferring water for injection into the oil fields of West Karun was approved at the provincial level.

According to Energy Press, citing Metn Company, Saeed Mostafavi, referring to the completion of the initial studies of the water supply and transfer plan for injection into the West Karun oil fields, stated: Given the scope of the implementation area, the necessary approvals and permits, which were considered a prerequisite for entering the implementation phase, needed to be reviewed and extended over time.
He added: Fortunately, with the initiative of Metn Company CEO and continuous follow-up, the issue of implementing the plan was raised in a meeting attended by the Deputy Governor of Khuzestan for Construction, the Director General of Environmental Protection of the province, and other relevant officials, and was approved after expert reviews.
The project executor of the conceptual and basic studies of water supply for injection into the oil reservoirs of the Karun area stated: In this meeting, various options related to the water withdrawal source were reviewed and finally the final withdrawal location was determined. Also, the environmental permit for the water supply and transfer plan for injection into the West Karun oil fields was approved by the Khuzestan General Directorate of Environmental Protection.
Mostafavi said: This project aims to sustainably provide the water needed for injection into the oil reservoirs west of Karun, increase production efficiency, and support the continuation of conservative oil production.
