The Ministry of Petroleum is the leading agency in implementing the Free Access to Information Law

According to Energy Press, the Law on the Publication and Free Access to Information, which was passed with the aim of strengthening transparency, accountability, gaining public trust and preventing corruption, obliges public and private institutions providing public services to publish and make their public information accessible and to provide the required information in response to citizens’ requests.
Since 2017, more than three thousand institutions have responded to citizens’ requests through the national system for the publication and free access to information, iranfoia.ir. Based on the assessments conducted in this system, in the first six months of 1404, the Ministry of Petroleum has achieved first place among the country’s executive agencies with its superior performance in responding to citizens’ requests, clarifying information and improving interaction with public opinion.
