From Qatar’s domination to Iran’s failure; The story of the failure of three projects of LNG

According to Energy Press, while Qatar has become one of the world’s largest exporters of natural liquefied natural gas and earned more than $ 5 billion in LNG sales in the year, three major gas liquefied projects have stopped one after another. The plans that were supposed to bring Iran to the LNG exporters’ club, but now their only reminder is the semi -finished structures left in Assaluyeh.
Unfinished Dream of Iran LNG
Iran LNG’s project in the South Pars Special Economic Zone was Iran’s most important effort to attend the global liquefied gas market. The project began with the aim of converting natural gas to LNG and exporting it to Europe and East Asia, and much of its equipment was installed, but sanctions and the withdrawal of foreign companies led to a project that could transform Iran’s position in the global gas market. The design and implementation of the project was initially assigned to a consortium consisting of Lindeh companies, Hyundai South Korea and Saipam, Italy, and Iranian Farab and Namvaran companies participated in the engineering engineering of the gas desalination unit. Two other consortiums, including Pars International Development and Engineering Company (Pidco) and Chinese Bijing Air -e -Engineering Company, were responsible for manufacturing liquid trains, and storage tanks were built by Dalim. The MAPNA Group was also responsible for supplying power plants and electrocon -camoupers. Despite this volume of domestic and foreign participation, the project never reached the stage of production, and its huge capital remained in silence.
