Formation of a special working group in the Ministry of Oil to develop new technologies

According to Energy Press, Omid Shakeri, noting that after the government’s meeting with the Supreme Leader last week and his instructions on improving oil production methods and tools and using the capacity of elite youth in the field of oil and gas production, stated: “A working group consisting of executive managers, university professors, and prominent experts in this field was formed at the Ministry of Oil upon the order of Mohsen Paknejad, Minister of Oil.” He stated that in recent years, numerous research projects have been defined for the development and application of enhanced oil recovery technologies, but despite conducting appropriate studies and experiments, no tangible results have been achieved in the production sector so far. He added: “The main mission of the new working group will be to follow up on the defined projects in the field of new technologies for increasing oil recovery from hydrocarbon reservoirs, rehabilitating low-yield wells, and removing administrative obstacles in the upstream sector of the oil industry.”
