Shazand under the microscope: From the halt to gasoline exports to Afghanistan to the legacy of bus hires
In an interview with this media outlet, the CEO of Shazand Petrochemical Company described the company's most important recent challenge as the cessation of gasoline exports to Afghanistan, saying that as the country's standards became stricter, the export of 80-octane gasoline, which previously constituted an important part of Shazand's income, has been halted.

According to Energy Press, Abbas Karimi, CEO of Shazand Petrochemical Company, in an interview with this media outlet, described the company’s most important recent challenge as the cessation of gasoline exports to Afghanistan, saying that as the country’s standards became stricter, the export of 80-octane gasoline, which previously constituted an important part of Shazand’s income, has been stopped. According to him, this issue has eliminated about a third of the company’s income and has become a serious challenge. Karimi explained that the gasoline export contract was signed during the previous management period and cannot be canceled due to legal obligations, but at the same time, the company has started producing 92-octane gasoline in order to pass the new Afghan standards, although mass exports have not been implemented so far.
