Formation of a special working group to accelerate the collection of flare gases

According to Energy Press, Mohsen Mohammadpour today (Wednesday, August 10) at the signing ceremony of the Trilateral Cooperation Memorandum of Understanding for the Development and Integration of the Innovation and Technology Ecosystem of the Oil Industry and the Comprehensive Memorandum of Understanding for the Establishment and Management of the Consortium for the Development of the Associated Gas Value Chain, referring to the importance and necessity of this national mission, stated: The Research and Technology Department of the Ministry of Petroleum and its subsidiaries, including the Oil Industry Research Institute, the Technology and Innovation Park, and the Petroleum Industry University, have always played a prominent role in the scientific and technological development of the country, and today, they can also have a decisive impact on the issue of collecting associated gases. He added: The issue of associated gases with oil is one of the most important challenges for the country, which has various dimensions; on the one hand, there are heavy compounds in it that affect the country, and on the other hand, the environmental pollution caused by it has faced the country’s environment with serious problems. If the process of collecting these gases is properly designed and implemented, it will both help reduce pollution and can bring significant economic benefits to the country.
Public-private sector cooperation; the way to achieve the national goal of collecting associated gases
The head of the Ministry of Oil’s Flare Gas Collection Working Group, noting that the President has emphasized that the collection of associated gases must be completed before the end of the Seventh Plan, added: “This requirement does not mean that the implementation of projects should be postponed until the end of the plan, but rather that work should be carried out now with focused, targeted planning and serious follow-up.”
