Getting to know Iran’s petrochemical companies; this part is Kermanshah

According to Energy Press, the growing population of Iran, especially after the victory of the Islamic Revolution, has significantly increased the demand for agricultural products and highlighted the need for chemical fertilizers even more than before. The National Petrochemical Industries Company has launched several projects with the aim of expanding this industry in different regions of the country, of which the Kermanshah Petrochemical Complex is one of the successful examples. This complex has not only helped to provide the chemical fertilizers needed by Kermanshah province and neighboring regions, but has also had a significant impact on creating employment, promoting technical knowledge, and economic development of the region.
History of Establishment
After the imposed war and its negative effects on the economy of Kermanshah province, a group of members of the Chamber of Commerce of this province began to study solutions to improve the economic situation. Finally, the construction of production units was raised as one of the priorities for the economic development of the region. Given the urgent need of the province and neighboring regions for chemical fertilizers, the idea of establishing a chemical fertilizer production plant was formed and in 1997, the Kermanshah Petrochemical Industries Company was registered. In 1990, a large-scale subscription was conducted to secure the project’s financial resources, and the National Petrochemical Industries Company joined the implementation of this project with a 38.5 percent participation and obtaining a license from the government. The people of Kermanshah welcomed the purchase of shares in this project, indicating their enthusiasm for the industrial development of the region and their appreciation for the efforts made. After securing the financial resources, the project’s implementation activities began, and the National Petrochemical Industries Company assumed responsibility for its implementation up to the exploitation stage.
