The critical water tariff has been canceled for now

According to Energy Press, the crisis tariff for consumption means applying higher rates for energy consumption (electricity and water) during peak hours or in case of consumption exceeding the model. This measure will be implemented with the aim of managing consumption and encouraging subscribers to reduce consumption during times of high demand or to reduce overall consumption during peak consumption times when the production deficit is exacerbated.
Applying a temporary tariff for crisis conditions is a solution to manage the demand side in conditions of serious shortages that has been implemented in several countries. In a situation where Tehran is facing a serious challenge of providing drinking water and it is necessary for people’s water consumption to be reduced by 30 percent to overcome the current situation, applying a crisis tariff by charging subscribers a higher price for water than the model has been put on the agenda of the Ministry of Energy.
