Reducing oil and gas consumption in non-power sectors of the country

Reducing oil and gas consumption in non-power sectors of the country
The CEO of the National Iranian Petroleum Refining and Distribution Company announced a daily average reduction of 5 million liters of oil and gas consumption in 1404 compared to last year, saying: "This success is the result of implementing control policies and measures, using smart tools to combat fuel smuggling, and intensifying monitoring of major non-power plant consumers."

According to Energy Press, Mohammad Sadeq Azimifar stated today (Tuesday, July 19) at the meeting of the Working Group for Preventing and Combating Smuggling of Petroleum Products, referring to the latest statistics on the consumption of petroleum products: The consumption of oil and gas (diesel) in the non-power sector of the country has decreased significantly.
He pointed out that the average daily consumption of oil and gas in the non-power sector from the beginning of this year to the end of July has reached about 81 million liters per day, while this figure was 86 million liters per day in the same period last year, and added: As a result of this reduction in consumption and increased oil and gas production in refineries, the level of oil and gas reserves is in a favorable state, and in the case of power plants alone, our reserves are now 72 percent higher than the same time last year.
The Deputy Minister of Oil emphasized that according to the trend of previous years, 5 percent should have been added to consumption this year, and stated: This reduction in consumption is the result of implementing control policies and measures and using smart tools to combat fuel smuggling and intensifying supervision over major non-power plant consumers.
Azimifar stated that non-power plant consumption includes diesel allocated to sectors such as transportation, agriculture, industry, and other areas except power plants, and that careful management of consumption in these sectors is carried out with the aim of protecting national interests and preventing the illegal export of petroleum products. He noted: The continuation of the trend of reducing consumption, in addition to reducing government costs, plays an important role in organizing the fuel market and preserving national reserves.
