Kermanshah Petrochemical: From gas shortage to production surge; urea and ammonia hit record highs
Kermanshah Petrochemical started 2025 with a significant jump in production; the more than doubling of ammonia and urea production in the first two months of this year compared to the same period last year has put this complex on the path to establishing its position in the methane value chain.

According to the Energy Press report, citing the public relations of Kermanshah Petrochemical Industries Company, this petrochemical company started the year of investment for production with a record jump in product production, so that the cumulative 2-month production of this methane value chain exceeded 180 thousand tons.
Accordingly, in Farvardin 1404, with the production of more than 33 thousand tons of ammonia and 57 thousand tons of urea, a 197 percent jump in ammonia production and 173 percent of urea, respectively, was achieved compared to Farvardin 1403.
In addition, in May this year, more than 34 thousand tons of ammonia and 56 thousand tons of urea were produced, which is an increase of 261 percent of ammonia and 250 percent of urea, respectively, compared to May last year.
