Significant reduction in theft from oil pipelines this year

According to Energy Press, Ali Ahmadipour stated in a press conference today (Tuesday, May 23) referring to the use of advanced monitoring and control systems in 232 oil transfer centers in the country: These systems are designed to immediately warn in the event of any unauthorized withdrawal or leakage outside the operational plan, and the company’s operational forces will arrive at the site as soon as possible and take the necessary action.
He announced a significant reduction in theft from pipelines this year and said: The phenomenon of theft of petroleum products from crude oil and petroleum product transfer lines has been one of the serious challenges of the oil industry in recent years, but with effective and targeted measures, we have been able to control this problem to a large extent.
Increasing the capacity to transport petroleum products to 390 million liters
The CEO of the Iranian Oil Pipelines and Telecommunications Company stated that despite extensive controls, profit-seeking individuals continue to commit theft, especially in the southern regions of the country such as Hormozgan and Khuzestan. However, since the beginning of May this year, physical controls have been strengthened by utilizing the capacity of the law enforcement forces alongside our patrol forces. He added: Since the beginning of 1404, only two cases of attacks on pipelines have been reported in the Hormozgan region, while last year this number was much higher and in some cases, once every three days.
