By implementing the South Pars pressure boosting plan, we will no longer need to import gas.

According to Energy Press, quoted by the National Iranian Oil Company’s information website, Mohsen Qamsari, referring to the fact that the pressure increase in South Pars has been felt for several years, said: “The need for pressure increase has been felt for years and it was necessary to equip the South Pars wells to have better and more continuous production.” He continued: “As mentioned earlier, we may not be successful in eliminating the imbalance with supply policies alone because our country’s demand for energy is very elastic, and no matter how much we manage the supply, we may not be able to reach the level we need.” Pointing out that in addition to increasing pressure to solve the imbalance problem, bilateral policies should be considered, Ghamsari noted: “The policies that are considered should be bilateral policies. In addition, supply must be managed and supported, and demand management must be carried out alongside it, because energy demand in our country is very elastic, and we cannot eliminate the imbalance without paying attention to the issue of supply management.”
