The need to identify opportunities and challenges for the development of the country’s petrochemical industry in the next 20 years
The CEO of the National Petrochemical Industries Company emphasized diversifying target markets and examining and identifying opportunities and challenges for the development of the country's petrochemical industry in the next 20 years.

According to Energy Press, Hassan Abbaszadeh, at the opening ceremony of the Petrochemical Strategic Studies Office (Petrochemical House) on Sunday (March 16), emphasized the importance of creating a study base to improve decision-making in the petrochemical industry and stated: Examining the challenges and opportunities in the development of the value chain, as well as strategies for attracting capital in the industry, requires detailed studies and research to choose the best path for the petrochemical industry to progress.
Referring to the imbalance in the energy sector, he added: This issue affects the maintenance, production, and sustainable development of petrochemical products, and studies should be conducted on this issue.
The CEO of the National Petrochemical Industries Company considered one of the study goals in the petrochemical industry in the area of sustainable feed supply to achieve the annual growth target of 8 percent and said: The main challenge of the petrochemical industry is sustainable feed supply. The petrochemical industry has a capacity of 100 million tons, 20% of which is empty, and this could be one of the study topics that can be created to ensure feed sustainability.
Abbaszadeh, referring to the study of the status of international markets, especially India, China, Saudi Arabia, Qatar and Africa, and the need to identify the required products and target countries, emphasized the need to conduct detailed studies to identify market needs, existing capacities and diversify target markets. He considered the carbon sector, especially flare gases, to be an important national demand for conducting strategic studies at the petrochemical house and stated: The territorial planning project is also on the agenda at the National Petrochemical Industries Company, and based on that, downstream industries are to be examined and defined for each province.
