$780 billion in revenue through the implementation of the pressure-raising plan

According to Energy Press, Mohammad Mehdi Tavasolipour stated that the South Pars gas field is shared between Iran and Qatar and provides 70 percent of the country’s gas consumption and 40 percent of the country’s gasoline production feedstock, which shows the strategic role of this joint field. He added: “We have just entered the second half of the production life of this joint field, and similar to all gas and oil fields in the world that will experience a drop in pressure and production after entering the second half of their life, we were forced to think of measures for this event.” He pointed out that Pars Oil and Gas Company conducted studies to compensate for this pressure drop and more than 20 scenarios were proposed to select the best option. He added: Options such as implementing pressure boosting in the onshore sector in the offshore sector or even combining this work onshore and offshore were proposed, and after considering the criteria and indicators of the amount of increased field extraction, economic, environmental, passive defense, and even executive indicators, the offshore option was finally selected as the best option.
The executor of the strategic plan for pressure boosting in the South Pars gas field continued: At the end of these studies, to implement this work offshore and cover 28 standard phases, we defined seven complexes or seven pressure boosting hubs, in each of these hubs, we considered two pressure boosting platforms with a capacity of one billion cubic feet per day to increase pressure, two power generation platforms, and two accommodation platforms for 120 of the company’s operational employees.
Tavaslipour stated that to connect the wellhead platforms to the booster platforms, we will have more than 40 kilometers of offshore pipelines, and a total of 42 offshore platforms and over 600 kilometers of pipelines, adding: “This work will be completed in the form of contracts with capable domestic contractors and the use of international capacities.”
