The capacity of the petrochemical industry has now increased from 3 million tons to 96 million tons

According to Energy Press, Hassan Abbaszadeh considered the rapid development of the petrochemical industry downstream of the oil industry the most important achievement in the oil industry chain in the past 46 years and stated: The petrochemical industry has now reached a capacity of about 96 million tons per year with various groups of petrochemical products from a low capacity of about 3 million tons per year.
He emphasized why this issue is important: With all due respect to all sectors of the oil industry, the petrochemical industry is the crystallization and value-creating link in the oil industry value chain by preventing crude sales and has had a rapid growth in these years. Although many measures have been taken in the oil production sector, this growth is not comparable.
The CEO of the National Petrochemical Industries Company, stating that in my opinion, not enough attention has been paid to the development of the petrochemical industry value chain in the past years, stated: The next step for this industry is to move towards completing the value chain from semi-crude products and producing products with higher added value.
