Energy imbalance has become a public issue

Energy imbalance has become a public issue
The CEO of the National Iranian Gas Company emphasized that the issue of energy imbalance has now become a public issue, saying: "Everyone needs to be involved and work to manage energy consumption."

According to Energy Press, citing the National Gas Company of Iran, Saeed Tavakoli stated on Sunday at the 11th winter fuel coordination meeting at the National Gas Company of Iran, which was held via video conference in the Shohada Gas Building with the presence of staff managers and managing directors of provincial gas companies: “In one day, gas consumption in the domestic, commercial and industrial sectors has increased by 50 million cubic meters; therefore, it is necessary for all sectors to cooperate and take the issue seriously so that we can prevent possible crises.” He continued: “Last year’s November, unlike this year, was the warmest November in the past 50 years, and conversely, this December was one of the coldest months in the past four decades. According to forecasts, this cold weather will continue until the end of this week or the next 10 days, so this issue raises concerns; because as gas consumption continues to increase, more pressure will be placed on the gas network.” Implementing upstream notified approvals seriously in the provinces
The Deputy Minister of Oil for Gas Affairs addressed the CEOs of provincial gas companies and said: Given the current conditions, upstream notified approvals should be implemented seriously in the provinces; try to explain the importance of efficient gas consumption to the people and prevent the spread of unauthorized branches and improper use of gas in the open air.
Stating that for this purpose, various capacities should be used to explain to the people, he added: For example, mosques and Friday imams can be used to increase public awareness. Also, open public centers should be monitored to prevent unauthorized branches.
Stating that the coldest weather and gas consumption are in the northern provinces of the country, and only the southern cities have a relatively better situation, the CEO of the National Iranian Gas Company stated: Our request is to avoid a provincial and sectoral perspective and look at issues from a national and macro perspective; Now is the time to make each other better through support and synergy.
