According to the exclusive report of “Energy Press”, Saeed Tawakli, Deputy Minister of Oil and CEO of National Gas Company, explained the challenges of gas supply in the country in an exclusive interview with “Energy Press”.
Emphasizing the existence of gas imbalance in the winter season, especially in the domestic, commercial and industrial sectors, he said: At the peak of winter consumption, we are facing a deficit of about 250 to 300 million cubic meters of gas per day, to compensate for it, alternative fuels such as oil Gas and diesel are used.
Pointing to the drop in air temperature at the beginning of November, Tavakli said: The arrival of the cold wave in the country has caused a significant increase in gas consumption. For each degree of temperature reduction, about 25 million cubic meters are added to gas consumption. If this trend continues, it is predicted that we will face a 4-degree drop in air temperature, which will lead to an increase of about 100 million cubic meters in the gas deficit.
