US Department of Energy statistics on Iran’s oil exports to 26 countries
According to Energy Press, according to one of the sanctions laws against the Islamic Republic of Iran, the US Energy Information Administration is required to periodically publish a report on the status of Iran’s oil and petroleum products exports.
In a report it published on this issue in October 2024, this institution affiliated with the US Department of Energy implicitly admitted that the sanctions have not been able to stop the flow of Iranian oil exports to global markets.
Iran’s income of 53 billion dollars from oil sales in 2023
In a part of this report, Iran’s oil income of 53 billion dollars from the sale of crude oil in 2023 is mentioned. Iran’s oil income from oil sales this year was only 12 billion dollars less than in 2018 (the year the US withdrew from the JCPOA and sanctions returned).
The lowest income of Iran from the sale of crude oil in the period after the withdrawal of the United States from the JCPOA was in 2020, i.e. 16 billion dollars, but since this year, Iran’s income has increased.
Iran’s oil exports reached 1.6 million barrels per day
Likewise, Iran’s oil exports have increased since 2020 and reached 1.59 million barrels per day in 2023, which was about 21% less than in 2018.
