In-field well drilling project to prevent the drop in gas production in South Pars
According to Energy Press, maintaining production from the South Pars gas field, a joint reservoir with Qatar, is so vital that no further delay in using it is allowed, and with the help of modern technologies, it should be possible to use this capital in the best way. Although the unilateral US sanctions against Iran do not allow access to modern technologies in various sectors, including the oil industry, as needed, but we cannot ignore the capacities and capabilities of domestic companies in this field, especially now that these companies are working until the season. Gas imbalance will increase another production from this tank.
In this context, Toraj Dehghani, the CEO of Pars Oil and Gas Company, said that due to the country’s confrontation with gas imbalance, the implementation of various plans with the aim of slowing down the decline in South Pars gas production is on the agenda.
The prospect of 36 million cubic meters of gas extraction increase
In-field drilling is done by increasing the rate of gas recovery from a tank, and the executive operations of drilling 35 in-field wells in the South Pars common field with the same vision, with the presence of the CEO of Pars Oil and Gas Company as the employer and CEO of PetroIran Company and the contractor of the second package. This project started on July 19 this year in the location of the reservoir block of the SPD 12B phase 12 South Pars platform.
Dehghani, who listed preventing or reducing the acceleration of the decline in production from the South Pars joint field as one of the priorities of Pars Oil and Gas Company, said: In this direction, optimal and timely decisions in the field of production operations and the implementation of short-term and long-term plans such as the Pars infield well drilling plan South and increasing pressure are seriously on the agenda.
The contract for the South Pars infield well drilling project in the form of four work packages was awarded by Pars Oil and Gas Company in January of last year to qualified contractors in the upstream sector of the country’s oil and gas industry. It is estimated at one billion and 200 million dollars. Pasargad, Petropars, PetroIran and Hafari Shamal companies are the contractors of the drilling project of 35 in-field wells in the South Pars common field.
According to the plan, 35 in-field wells in four work packages with Petropars companies (first package with drilling of 8 wells), Petroiran Development (second package with 9 wells), North Drilling (third package with 9 wells) and Pasargad Energy Development Group (Fourth package with 9 wells) will be drilled in 17 South Pars platforms, the installation of the DC12 drilling rig of PetroIran Development Company during the past months in the reservoir block position of the SPD 12B platform and the start of drilling operations in this position, the first step of the implementation of the 35 wells drilling plan The in-field well is in the South Pars common field, and in the future, other work packages related to other contractors of this project will be activated.
Earlier, Hamidreza Thaghafi, the head of Petropars Group, had also announced that to help solve the gas imbalance in the winter of 1403, it was decided to drill one well instead of batch drilling in the SPD1 platform, where the wells would reach the production stage next year. until the drilling tank is completed and produced by December 1403, for this purpose, special arrangements have been made in the planning of the drilling and production of this well, which with the implementation of the drilling project of eight in-field wells under the contract of Petropars Group, more than 15 million cubic meters The country’s gas production capacity will be increased and it will be a great help to solve the country’s gas imbalance.
