A member of the Parliament's Energy Commission in an interview with Energy Press:
Many construction projects are pending because of supply of bitumen
According to Energy Press, not long ago, the Expediency Council opposed the plan to allocate free bitumen, many representatives protested this issue. In an interview with Energy Press regarding the uncertainty of the “free bitumen supply plan” in the expediency assessment council, Ahmad Moradi said: the problems related to the supply of “free bitumen” and the decisions made by the expediency assessment council led to the discomfort of the members of the Islamic Council. Because rural roads and agricultural Jihad actions require raw materials; Therefore, we both amended the budget and emphasized to the government that they can supply the required bitumen in any possible way with the support of the parliament.
He further added: Therefore, the decision taken by the Expediency Council is being followed up by some representatives and the Speaker’s Committee to solve this problem. Therefore, we must try to prepare the infrastructure; Because many of the country’s roads, which have been asphalted and sandblasted, remain undetermined due to the lack of bitumen supply, which will deteriorate after some time and cause heavy losses to the country.
Moradi, the representative of the people of Bandar Abbas in the Islamic Council, stated: There was no obstacle to the approval of this law, and the parliament approved it and the Guardian Council also approved it, but there was a pause in the policy-making of the Expediency Council, but with the consultations that took place And also on the basis that the speaker of the parliament is also obliged to follow up on this issue, God willing, this issue will be resolved.
He continued: The financial resources of this project are seen in the law and have been mentioned in the budget, and we do not have a problem with this, nearly 4 million tons of bitumen are needed in the country, and in the first year of the program, when we made this decision, a figure of over 3 It was 1,000 billion tomans and now about 20,000 billion tomans are needed, which is increasing with the increase in the price of bitumen and raw materials, so this stoppage can cause irreparable damage to the infrastructure of construction projects.
Moradi pointed out: We are currently facing a decision-making problem, and the opinion of the Council of Expediency is based on the fact that this purge sometimes causes corruption, but wherever there is corruption, it must be dealt with and projects should not be rejected. It was postponed due to the possibility of corruption.
