The Minister of Oil emphasized: today this success was achieved and phase 11 of South Pars was officially put into operation, while foreign companies such as Total, Shell and CNPCI (the international branch of China National Oil Company) have not taken any practical action for the development of this phase for 20 years.

Stating that this project was put into operation over the past 20 months with the efforts of the National Iranian Oil Company, Pars Oil and Gas, Petropars, Engineering and Construction of Marine Facilities, etc., with the support of the government, he said: the value of the total contract in phase 11 is about 4.8 It was billion dollars when this company withdrew from the development of phase 11 of South Pars due to sanctions in 2017, but the work did not stop in the 13th government, and with this belief, we are witnessing the exploitation of this project today.

Oji stated: With the completion of phase 11 wells, 50 million cubic meters of gas will be taken from phase 11 of South Pars daily.

He pointed out that since the beginning of the 13th government and according to the assignments to the Ministry of Petroleum, the completion of half-finished projects was put on the agenda, and said: In 1401, 347 half-finished projects worth 12 billion dollars were put into operation.

The oil minister added: In 1402, 67 projects in the upstream and downstream of the oil industry, with the priority of increasing production and completing half-finished projects worth 15 billion dollars, will be put into operation. Today, 25 projects worth 7.5 billion dollars will be put into operation out of these 67 projects.

Emphasizing that 10 important actions were taken in South Pars during the 13th government, Oji continued: among them, the opening and operation of phase 11 of South Pars, the start-up of gas condensate sweetening units of phases 2 and 3, the construction of a new pipeline of phase 16 of Pars. South and the opening of the 14th phase of South Pars Refinery.

He emphasized: In addition to the 67 half-finished projects of the oil industry that will be put into operation this year, the implementation of 15 new projects will also begin in 1402.

Emphasizing that in the development of phase 11 of South Pars, 800 million dollars were saved in foreign exchange, Oji said: “The normal procedure of building a platform takes three to four years, and by moving the platform, we were able to start production from phase 11 of South Pars four years earlier.” As far as Total and CNPC, which had a contract for the development of this phase, today they remain tight-lipped.
