How much of Iran’s dam capacity has been filled?
Currently, despite the 32 billion and 820 million cubic meters of water stored in the country's dams, 63% of the reservoir capacity of the dams is full and 37% of this capacity is empty.

According to Energy Press, in the first 288 days of the current water year (from the beginning of October 2023 to July 16, 2024), a total of 38 billion and 650 million cubic meters of water entered Iran’s dams, which is compared to the entry of 36 billion and 280 million cubic meters of water into the dams during Similar to the last blue year, it has grown by 7%.
Also, during this period, in order to provide drinking water, agriculture, industry and environmental issues, 27 billion and 820 million cubic meters of water have been released from the country’s dams, which compared to the output of 25 billion and 900 million cubic meters of water in the same period of the water year before the dams. It shows a growth of 7%.
