801 million liters of gasoline were consumed during the June holidays

According to Energy Press, the country’s gasoline consumption during the weekend holidays has increased significantly with the increase in intercity travel, such that gasoline consumption was reported to be 131.6 million liters on June 12, 143.5 million on June 13, 138.8 million on June 15, 138.8 million on June 16, 119.6 million and 129.1 million liters on June 17, with the highest consumption figure for June 13 at 143.5 million liters.
According to this report, a total of 801 million and 400 thousand liters of gasoline were consumed in these 6 days (June 12 to 17), and the average gasoline consumption during this period has increased to 133 million and 500 thousand liters. This is while the average daily gasoline consumption in the country during the 21 days of the Nowruz holidays this year (March 15, 1403 to April 15, 1404) was also reported to be 134 million and 500 thousand liters, which indicates high gasoline consumption during the mid-June holidays.
Despite the large volume of production in the country, the imbalance between gasoline and products is one of the main challenges in the country, as the average intensity of energy consumption in Iran is twice the average energy consumption in the world, and the 20% increase in fuel consumption of domestic vehicles compared to vehicles that meet global standards, traffic jams, underdevelopment of public transportation, and product smuggling are among the factors contributing to the increase in gasoline consumption in the country.
