35% increase in food industry trade between Iran and Turkmenistan
The trade of food industries and agricultural products between the two countries of Iran and Turkmenistan in 2022 was about 39 million dollars, which reached 74 million dollars in 2023 with a growth of 35%.

According to Energy Press, Akbar Godari, head of the Central Asia, Caucasus and Russia office of the Iran Trade Development Organization, identified the Turkmenistan market as prone to attract Iranian products and said: In the 13th government, the development of trade with neighbors through economic diplomacy to reduce sanctions and increase exports Iranian products were prioritized, and in the meantime, negotiations to expand trade relations with Turkmenistan were fruitful, and this country’s market became one of our export target markets.

He added: In recent years, the improvement of political relations has led to the growth of trade with this country, and in 2023, the amount of trade with this country will reach 446 million dollars, of which 186 million dollars are in the field of industry, 156 million dollars are in the field of mining and industries. mineral and 74 million dollars in agriculture and food industries, 27 million dollars in petrochemical and oil-based products, and 2 million dollars in carpets.

According to Godari; Obtaining a visa for Iranian businessmen is hardly possible, and it seems that attending exhibitions will facilitate the process of entering this market for us; Therefore, in September of this year, we will hold an exhibition focusing on the food industry in this country.
