2,363 billion cubic meters of gas; South Pars’ 27-year achievement
The CEO of the South Pars Gas Complex, coinciding with the 27th anniversary of the company's establishment, announced: "In the past 27 years, more than 2,363 billion cubic meters of natural gas have been sweetened in this complex and delivered to pipelines across the country."

According to Energy Press, Gholam Abbas Hosseini, in describing the performance of the South Pars Gas Complex Company, pointed out that the complex was established on October 18, 1998 as a subsidiary of the National Iranian Gas Company and was responsible for operating the onshore facilities of the multiple phases of the South Pars gas field, and stated: The first official production and sweetening of natural gas from the second South Pars refinery (phases 2 and 3) began in 1998.
He added: At that time, 50 million cubic meters of feed were received daily from the platforms of the joint South Pars field and 45 million cubic meters of natural gas were produced and sweetened daily. Also, 80,000 barrels of gas condensate and 400 tons of sulfur were produced daily in the second refinery.
Receiving 650 million cubic meters of feed daily
In response to a question about the company’s overall performance over the past 27 years, the CEO of the South Pars Gas Complex Company stated: “Since the beginning of the complex’s establishment until the end of September this year, 2,786 billion cubic meters of gas have been received from the wellhead platforms, and more than 2,363 billion cubic meters of natural gas have been sweetened and transferred to national pipelines.”
Hosseini continued: “Gas condensate production during this period has exceeded 3,474 million and 251 thousand barrels, which is an important achievement and a major step in the country’s economic progress and growth.”
He stated that the daily feed capacity of the complex from the wellhead platforms of this joint field is now 650 million cubic meters, of which more than 600 million cubic meters of natural gas is sweetened, produced and transported to national pipelines in refineries. He also stated: The daily production capacity of this complex is 780 thousand barrels of gas condensate, 15 thousand tons of ethane, 15 thousand tons of propane, 10 thousand tons of butane, and 2500 tons of sulfur, which, in addition to earning foreign exchange for the country, has a significant contribution to meeting industrial needs.
