150 million liters of smuggled fuel discovered in Hormozgan province

According to Energy Press, Mojtaba Ghahremani, the Chief Justice of Hormozgan, stated: In implementation of the orders of the Judiciary Presidency regarding the need to decisively combat organized crime and fuel smuggling, and with the aim of assisting the government in resolving the energy imbalance problem, a case was sent to the provincial judiciary by the Economic Security Police of the Hormozgan Provincial Police Command regarding a private petrochemical company. According to the officers, this company has been suspected of smuggling 150 million liters of oil derivatives over the past four years, the financial value of which, according to economic experts, is equivalent to 5 trillion rials.
Following the filing of this case, the company’s ship was seized in recent weeks and about 10 million liters of its cargo was unloaded.
He continued: Also, since the beginning of last week, in various operations by Faraj and Admiralty officers and Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps Navy fighters in various parts of Hormozgan province, smuggling of about 20 million liters of fuel was discovered, and several fuel smugglers were arrested.
Ghahraman noted: In the latest actions of the Hormozgan provincial judicial system, in cooperation with bailiffs, to combat fuel smuggling, by order of the Jask County Prosecutor and as a result of the follow-up efforts, a large snake bag containing 100,000 liters of smuggled fuel was discovered and seized in the waters west of the county.
