According to an exclusive report by Energy Press, Ahmad Mahdavi, Secretary General of the Iranian Petrochemical Employers Association, said at the 6th Iranian Methanol Seminar: If there is no feed, some petrochemicals will have to produce at 30% capacity by 1407.
He said: About 14 million dollars are lost from our exports every day due to the lack of petrochemical gas.
Mahdavi emphasized: In Iran, 5% is planning and 95% must be followed up to achieve results. In a situation where the country is facing an energy shortage, petrochemical companies have announced their readiness to increase gas production and this must be facilitated.
Referring to the inability of foreign companies such as Shell and Total as well as the government’s financial constraints, the Secretary General of the Petrochemical Industry Employers Association announced the readiness of the private sector for gas development.
He also announced negotiations with the Ministry of Energy to optimize energy consumption and convert the gas cycle of power plants to a combined cycle in order to sustainably supply petrochemical feed.
