According to Energy Press, Persian Gulf Holding, the largest player in Iran\u2019s petrochemical industry, has put on the agenda a massive $2 billion plan to build 5,000 megawatts of solar power plants with the aim of reducing dependence on the national electricity grid and preventing future crises in the field of energy supply.
\nThis plan is being introduced while the holding company\u2019s capital is only 2 trillion tomans, equivalent to approximately $23.5 million.
\nSemnan, Fars, Kerman, Hormozgan, Yazd and Markazi provinces have been selected for the construction of solar power plants.
\nThis strategic move is designed in response to the increasing electricity imbalance and also to prevent the occurrence of gas imbalance in the coming years.
